Interuniversity Scientific Journal Aspirantskiy Vestnik Povolzhiya ("Postgraduate Bulletin of the Volga Region) has been published since 2000 upon the initiative of  the Council of Rectors of the Samara region, originally titled "Postgraduate Bulletin of the Samara Government." The first issues were published with the support of the Department of Youth Affairs of the Samara Region and the Ministry of Culture. Since 2007 this scientific journal has become a   peer-reviewed scientific journal of the Russian Federation included in the list of HAC (Higher Attestation Commission) of the Ministry of Education and Science  of the Russian Federation.

    The Chief editor of the scientific journal Aspirantskiy Vestnik Povolzhiya is the Chairman of the Council of Rectors of the Samara region Academician Professor Gennady Petrovich Kotelnikov. The editorial staff is based on training of the academic and teaching staff administration of Samara State Medical University.

    The journal is registered in the ISSN International Centre and has an international Standard Serial Number ISSN 2072-2354. Information about the journal is published in the catalogue "Press of Russia" (code 42023).

    The journal is published 4 times a year. Manuscripts can be accepted for publication according to the following groups of specialties:

    The journal provides review for all submitted articles corresponding to the subject. The reviewers of the Journal are leading scientists from Samara, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, and foreign scientists who have made significant contributions to the development of the appropriated field of knowledge They are 8 Doctors of Science in Philosophy, 1 Doctor of Science in History, 1 Candidate of Science in Philology, 25 Doctors of Science in Medicine , three of them are foreign scientists from Germany and France.

    In accordance with the Federal Law of 29.12.1994 77-FZ "On Obligatory Copy of Documents", the editors regularly deliver a copyright deposit to the branch of the ITAR-TASS Russian Book Chamber. The journal is delivered to Russian leading research libraries, libraries of leading universities, Russian scientific organizations, universities and libraries of Samara region. It is distributed by subscription and it is also used in international contacts.

    The journal is included in the Russian Science Citation Index and in the list of leading peer-reviewed scientific journals for publication scientific results of dissertations for the Degree of Doctor and Candidate of Sciences, approved by the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (HAC).

    The periodical scientific journal Postgraduate Bulletin of the Volga region promotes the activity of research staff at academic institutions and universities presenting the scientific results. It presents the latest achievements of young scientists from the Samara region and other regions of Russia to broad scientific community. The journal also enhances the authority of the Samara region which maintains and develops its scientific potential.

    The articles are sent by the authors from different regions of Russia Samara, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov, Nizhniy Novgorod, Ulyanovsk, Ufa, Orel, Stavropol, Murmansk, Orenburg, Novosibirsk region, Ingushetia, Khakassia, Vitebsk and Saransk.

    The visitors of the site of the journal is used by researchers from more than 20 regions of Russia, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Samara, Saratov, Novosibirsk, Tyumen, Krasnodar, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Chelyabinsk, Yaroslavl. Monthly statistics of visits to the site is about 1,000 people.

    According to the researchers and scientific supervisors, the journal is high-demand editorial project in the Russian Federation, which publishes scientific results of dissertations for the Degree of Doctor and Candidate of Sciences.
